Quetta District Jirga Against Lawlessness, Abduction, Extortion, and Land Grabbing to Be Held in Jammarat: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — A meeting was held at the party’s central secretariat under the chairmanship of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Provincial Senior Vice President and Quetta District Secretary Syed Sharaf Agha. The meeting was attended by party Central Deputy Chairman Abdul Rauf Lala, Central Secretary Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Provincial President Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, Provincial Deputy Secretary Bashir Kakar Advocate, Hazrat Umar Advocate, Iqbal Batezai, Hafeez Tareen, and members of the district executives and district committee.
In light of the decisions of the people of Southern Pashtunkhwa and the three-day Pashtun National Jirga, all preparations for the Quetta District Jirga have been completed. The Jirga will be held today, Thursday, September 17, at 3 PM at Shalkot Marriage Hall, Subzal Road, Quetta. The Jirga will be chaired by PkMAP Central Secretary Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai. Invitations have been delivered by the party to all participants of the Jirga in Quetta district.
Participants in the Jirga will present their valuable opinions and suggestions and will determine a strategy for the future course of action. The statement said that on the invitation of PkMAP Chairman, Head of the Movement for Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, in light of the decisions of the Jirga held from March 11 to 14, 2022, a Jirga of the people of Southern Pashtunkhwa and the Pashtun nation was held in Quetta on August 30, 31, and September 1, 2026, under the chairmanship of PkMAP Central Secretary Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai. In that Jirga, district-level Jirga committees were formed in all districts of Southern Pashtunkhwa.
After completing the lists of names and invitations, district-level Jirgas will soon be held in every district, in which political and social leaders, tribal elders, intellectuals, lawyers, youth, women, laborers, farmers, traders, journalists, and representatives from various walks of life will participate. They will deliberate in detail on the ongoing lawlessness, kidnapping for ransom, looting, theft, robbery, armed robberies, extortion, killing and mayhem, land grabbing, highway blockades, law and order, unconstitutional and illegal transfers/allocations of lands, mountains, and forests, closure of trade, and the economic, social, and national situation in Southern Pashtunkhwa and particularly in their respective districts and areas, and will unanimously determine the future course of action in light of their valuable opinions and suggestions.
In this connection, the Quetta District Jirga is being held today, September 17. The statement urged all participants of the Jirga to participate on time. In the meeting, regarding services at the Jirga, members of various committees formed, including registration, reception, security, and media, were directed to ensure their presence at the Jirga hall at 1 PM and to discharge their responsibilities well until the conclusion of the Jirga.
