Improve Quality of Public Services Through Digitalization and Reforms in Departments: Chief Secretary Balochistan

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) 14 September: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan regarding the two-year performance review reports of various provincial departments. During the meeting, detailed reports of the Sports, Law, Culture, and Commodity Management departments were presented, and future measures were discussed.
The Chief Secretary, terming reforms and digitalization in departments as the top priority, directed that the digital system be further expanded to deliver government services to the public in a timely and effective manner. He said that adopting modern policies in commodity management is indispensable for the transparent and organized management of provincial resources. Declaring the welfare of the people as the top priority, he said that decision-making measures will be implemented immediately.
The meeting also emphasized that sports and youth programs should be promoted to engage young people in positive activities. The Chief Secretary also directed that special attention be given to nurturing the talents of young people and protecting them from social degradation through sports infrastructure and cultural events in the province.
During the meeting, heads of departments outlined future plans for reforms, digitalization, and public welfare. The Chief Secretary issued directives to ensure the timely completion of these projects and to maintain the pace of the reform process.
Quetta 14 September: A meeting on Own Sources Revenue was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, in which a detailed review of the revenue generated from the own sources of various departments was conducted. The meeting analyzed the financial performance presented by the departments, various revenue sectors, and current figures.
Participants emphasized the potential for improving revenue through digitalization, online fee collection, and transparency in departments. Proposals were presented in the meeting for the effective use of technology, improving the quality of record management, and integrating the revenue collection procedure.
The Chief Secretary directed all relevant departments of the province to formulate clear and practicable strategies to meet revenue targets within the stipulated period. He said that digital reforms are not only a means of increasing revenue but also a means of providing transparent and effective services to the public. Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan said that digitalization is indispensable for improving departmental performance and facilitating public services. Every department should prepare its own timeline and immediately start practical measures to achieve the set targets.
