Matiullah Jan’s Tough Questions to Sher Afzal Marwat Over Arguments Regarding Imran Khan’s Disqualification
Islamabad (Daily Qudrat): After the hearing in the Federal Constitutional Court on the petition regarding the restoration of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Ministership and Ali Amin Gandapur, senior journalist Matiullah Jan posed sharp questions to Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat outside the court.
Speaking to the media outside the court, journalist Matiullah Jan, recalling Sher Afzal Marwat’s past statements, asked: “You used to claim that if Imran Khan said so, you would resign immediately — so will you now resign from your seat on Imran Khan’s say-so? The votes you received were actually received in the name of Imran Khan. Should you not have resigned on principle and morally before coming to this Constitutional Court?”

Sher Afzal Marwat replied that a lot of water has now flowed under the bridges; these people have made me their enemy themselves, now let them suffer.
Matiullah Jan questioned Sher Afzal Marwat about the points of the petition he submitted in court and his arguments: “In your view, are the sentences handed to Imran Khan in various cases correct?” At this, Sher Afzal Marwat immediately acknowledged, saying that “all the sentences handed to Imran Khan are completely wrong and based on injustice.”

Seizing on this point, Matiullah Jan raised the question before Sher Afzal Marwat: “If all the sentences handed to Imran Khan are wrong, then how did his nomination for Chief Minister become wrong? If you yourself admit that his sentences are based on injustice, then why have you come to court with this petition using Imran Khan’s disqualification as a basis and relying on his sentences?”
At this, Sher Afzal Marwat refused further discussion, saying: “We don’t talk!”
