Heavy Police Deployment at PTI Worker Ishtiaq Khan’s Funeral, Allegations of Hasty Burial
LAHORE (Qudrat Roznama) – Reports have been received of alleged police interference and strict security arrangements during the funeral arrangements of PTI worker Ishtiaq Khan, who died after being burnt by boiling oil during an alleged police raid on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal. According to details, claims have been made in social media posts that the attitude of the state and administration during the funeral and burial was extremely strict. Journalist Muhammad Umair wrote on X that a heavy contingent of police, led by SP Iqbal Town Sidra, was present at the site.

The journalist said that the body was kept outside the house for only ten minutes so that distant relatives could not reach in time, and the funeral and burial were hastily completed under police supervision. Citizens making videos or taking pictures at the site were allegedly harassed by the police, while no central PTI leader attended the funeral.
It is pertinent to note that on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, during an alleged police raid, active Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf worker Ishtiaq Khan, who was severely burnt after falling into a cauldron of boiling oil, passed away after 18 days of struggling between life and death at Mayo Hospital. According to a statement issued on social media by PTI leader Zubair Khan Niazi, Ishtiaq Khan was severely injured in this tragic incident that occurred on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal and was shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Despite the doctors’ prolonged efforts, he could not survive and succumbed to his wounds, meeting his Creator.
