PM Shehbaz Announces Special Petrol Relief Scheme: Rs100/Litre Relief for Motorcycles, Rickshaws, and Vehicles Up to 800cc

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Roznama) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a special petrol relief scheme.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, taking immediate notice of the burden on the public caused by the recent tensions in the Middle East and the resulting rise in oil prices in the international market, a special relief scheme has been launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister said that the government fully understands the burden placed on the public due to the increase in oil prices, and that it will not leave the people alone in this hour of difficulty. He stated that a special scheme is being launched to reduce the burden of rising oil prices on those who use motorcycles, rickshaws, Chingchi vehicles, and small cars. Under the special relief scheme, a relief of Rs100 per litre on petrol will be given to users of motorcycles, rickshaws, Chingchi vehicles, and vehicles up to 800cc.
He further said that two-wheelers and three-wheelers, including motorcycles, rickshaws, and Chingchis, will receive a relief of Rs100 per litre on up to 20 litres of petrol per month. Similarly, owners of small vehicles, i.e., vehicles up to 800cc, will be provided a relief of Rs100 per litre on up to 30 litres of petrol per month. In the Islamabad Capital Territory, the scheme will take effect from the night between Monday and Tuesday.
Shehbaz Sharif said that across the entire country, including Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, it will be implemented from the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Registration for this special relief scheme has begun today, and its procedure will be communicated to the public through an awareness campaign. The Prime Minister thanked the provinces for their cooperation in providing information regarding motorcycles, rickshaws, and small vehicles for registration in the scheme.
