A Human Tragedy Has Taken Birth in Balochistan; Efforts Are Being Made to Make Politics a Forbidden Tree; Political Parties Have Been Crushed Between Powerful Forces: All Parties Conference

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — In view of the current situation in Balochistan, an All Parties Conference was held at Muhammad Shahi House Quetta under the chairmanship of National Party Central President and former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, hosted by National Party Central Secretary General Mir Kabir Jan Muhammad Shahi.
The meeting was attended by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Provincial President Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, Awami National Party Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai, Hazara Democratic Party Central President Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zirai, National Democratic Movement Provincial President Ahmad Jan, Balochistan National Party’s Musa Baloch, and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Zaid Akhtar.
Addressing the meeting, participants said that a human tragedy has taken birth in Balochistan, human life has no value left, and politics, the economy, and business life have been immensely affected. Businesses and highways are closed, borders have been shut, sometimes declared and sometimes undeclared curfews are imposed, and the supply of food items has stopped, which can create a food crisis at any time.
They said the incidents of Ziarat, Harnai, Awaran, and then the cutting of fruit-bearing trees in Khadkocha and the displacement of people all demand that powerful forces share a common stance on one point: that politics and political parties should disappear here and politics should become a forbidden tree. For this, it is necessary that political parties adopt a common stance, move forward, and play a strong political role.
In their addresses, participants said that after the bitter experience of the PDM, it has become necessary that we build not just unity in Balochistan but sustainable unity, for which trust and respect are essential. The establishment has its own agenda; whenever it gets stuck, it uses the shoulders of politicians. For sustainable peace, it is essential that political and democratic parties unite and begin a strong political movement.
At this time, political parties in Balochistan are badly trapped between two powerful forces. The government calls them facilitators, and organizations say that you talk of the state’s strength, therefore it is not acceptable to us. Political parties are being battered from both sides. Billions of rupees were spent to install barbed wire on the border. The question is: despite this, where do terrorists come from in Ziarat and Harnai, Awaran, and empty out the areas?
Politicians spent billions of rupees to bring electricity to people’s homes in far-flung areas; now billions of rupees worth of poles, wires, and transformers have been taken away by the KESCO company, pushing people into darkness, and the government got rid of the problem by giving solar systems for Rs 2 million each.
They said that the incidents of Ziarat, Cross, Harnai, Awaran, and then in Khadkocha, declaring orchards and gardeners as terrorists, cutting trees, and displacing people from their homes is the worst kind of tyranny. Maulana Wasey said that for people, their hut, their garden, their shop is their Pakistan. If their garden, shop, business, and mud house are destroyed, understand that their Pakistan has been snatched from them.
There was already alienation in two provinces; now, by chanting the tune of new provinces, unrest and unease have also been created in Sindh. Participants said that this unity will prove to be a milestone for the people of Balochistan, and it is the stance of these parties that Balochistan’s resources belong to Balochistan, and there will be no compromise on it. The plunder of the entire province’s resources, along with making politics a hostage, is unacceptable to all the nations living in Balochistan, because this province is the common homeland of the people living here, and their resources are also equal.
