Prime Minister Takes Notice of Electricity Load-Shedding in Various Parts of the Country

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of electricity load-shedding in various parts of the country. An important review meeting on electricity load management in the country was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

Expressing displeasure over the increasing load-shedding in various cities, the Prime Minister directed that all available resources be utilized effectively so that there is no load-shedding of more than two hours in any area.

He said that, keeping in view the regional situation and future needs, immediate measures should be taken to deal with disruptions in RLNG supply. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif issued orders to establish Consumer Grievance Redressal Committees at the DISCO level to address public complaints related to electricity transmission and other issues.

Directing the grievance committees to be activated within one week, the Prime Minister said that the committees should also have public representation.

The meeting was informed that due to the recent regional situation, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, and transmission difficulties, the disruption in RLNG supply has caused a reduction in electricity generation.

To maintain the balance between demand and supply, load management is being forced. The meeting was told that electricity consumers can register their complaints through the helpline number 118. The consumer is also informed of the token number and the time for redressal of the complaint.
