Supreme Court Issues Written Order on Imran Khan’s Transfer to Hospital
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has issued its written order regarding the transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan to hospital, directing that he be provided necessary medical treatment and humane conditions despite being in custody.
According to the written order, a medical board will be constituted at Shifa International Hospital for Imran Khan’s treatment. The board will include a physician, general surgeon, internal medicine specialist, ophthalmologist and cardiologist.
The court also permitted Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Uzma Khan to remain involved in Imran Khan’s medical treatment.
The written order stated that the expenses of Imran Khan’s treatment would be borne by him or his family.
The Supreme Court further ordered that information regarding Imran Khan’s health must not be shared with the media or the public. It also directed that no public gathering be held outside the hospital.
The court stated that information concerning Imran Khan’s health could not be used for political gain. It warned that the facilities granted under the order could be withdrawn immediately in case of any violation.
The Supreme Court also directed the authorities to ensure that Imran Khan meets his family once a week and is provided with the facility to speak to his sons by telephone twice a week.
