Ikrar-ul-Hassan Denies Contact With Military Officials During Journalism, Political Career

ISLAMABAD:Awam Raj Party chief and journalist Ikrar-ul-Hassan has strongly denied having any contact with military officers during his journalism career or political activities, saying he was even prepared to take an oath to prove his claim.
During a programme, hosts Ahmed Ali Khan and Ali Zai asked Ikrar-ul-Hassan to swear whether he had met or remained in contact with a sector commander.
In response, Ikrar-ul-Hassan said that if he had maintained contact with any military officer, from a soldier to a general, at any point during his 21-year journalism career or his political journey with the Awam Raj movement, he would be deprived of Allah’s mercy and the intercession of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He questioned what kind of oath he could take that would convince people of the truth of his statement.
Ikrar-ul-Hassan further said that, if necessary, he was even willing to travel to Madinah and take an oath with the Holy Quran at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

He said that if he had ever spoken on someone’s instructions or made any statement to please someone, he prayed that he would face the wrath of Allah and His Messenger (PBUH).
Ikrar-ul-Hassan said people could either believe him or not, adding that he had simply expressed what was in his heart and had nothing more to say on the matter.
