PTI Core Committee Retains Decision to March on Islamabad on September 27

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee has decided to maintain its plan to march towards Islamabad on September 27, party sources said.
According to sources, the committee agreed that the march would proceed on September 27 even if a court ruling goes against the party or arrests are made.
The meeting reviewed a petition filed in court seeking to stop the planned march. PTI leader Salman Akram Raja briefed the participants on the legal aspects of the case.
The committee also discussed the situation arising from the seizure of containers and the possible closure of roads leading to Islamabad.
According to Core Committee sources, the party would proceed with the march even in the event of an unfavorable court decision. They said stopping the march was the authority of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Sources added that different plans had been prepared to deal with possible arrests and a lockdown of Islamabad.
The meeting also decided to seek funds from members of the provincial and national assemblies for the march, while lawmakers were instructed to deposit the required funds immediately.
