Balochistan Health Department Removes 25 Lady Doctors Over Prolonged Absence

QUETTA:The Balochistan Health Department has removed 25 lady doctors from service for allegedly remaining continuously and deliberately absent from their official duties. Another employee has also been dismissed following strict disciplinary action.

According to the Balochistan Health Department, action against the absent doctors and the other employee was taken under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act, 2011 (BEEDA).

Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said the process of taking action against more absent doctors under the BEEDA Act was also under way. He said data regarding doctors currently residing abroad had been compiled and effective action against them would also be taken soon.

According to Bakht Muhammad Kakar, data concerning doctors living abroad was collected with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI).

The provincial health minister said all possible measures were being taken to improve the performance of the Health Department and ensure the provision of medical facilities to people at their doorsteps.

He said the department’s performance could not be improved unless government employees recognized and fulfilled their responsibilities.

He made it clear that doctors, paramedics and all other employees of the Health Department would have to regularly perform their duties and responsibilities. He stressed that any negligence in serving the people of Balochistan would not be tolerated.

Bakht Muhammad Kakar further said departmental action against unjustified absenteeism and negligence in the performance of duties would continue in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations.
