Karachi Bar President Issues Stern Warning to Interior Minister Over Sindh Division
KARACHI – Karachi Bar Association (KBA) President Aamir Nawaz Warraich has issued a severe warning to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, declaring that the legal community will not remain silent until his resignation if he makes any statement or takes any action regarding the division of Sindh .
Addressing lawyers’ representatives in Karachi, Warraich expressed strong opposition to the ongoing political and constitutional debate over the creation of new provinces and the division of Sindh. Criticizing Naqvi’s statements and role, he said:
“If we hear even the slightest mention of dividing Sindh from Mohsin Naqvi, we will not return home before his resignation. Let us see how much power Mohsin Naqvi actually has” .
Warraich made it clear that the legal community would under no circumstances accept any change to Sindh’s geographical status or any form of its division. He stated that they would not recognize any constitution or constitutional amendment that allowed Sindh to be divided .

“We do not accept any constitution or amendment that permits the division of Sindh,” Warraich asserted, adding that no compromise would be made on the struggle for rights or provincial autonomy .
The KBA president warned that if any attempt is made at any level to impose unilateral decisions, lawyers will take to the streets and launch strong protests .
In a separate statement, the KBA had earlier criticized Naqvi’s remarks on the creation of new provinces, terming any proposal that directly or indirectly seeks to divide Sindh as “provocative, irresponsible and wholly unacceptable” . The association maintained that Sindh is not an administrative territory available for political “experimentation” .
The warning comes amid heightened political tensions following the Interior Minister’s recent statements advocating for the creation of new administrative units in the country. Warraich emphasized that the Interior Minister’s primary duty is to maintain law and order, and he condemned Naqvi’s statements that could potentially create disorder .
