PM Shehbaz Pays Tribute to PAF on Air Force Day

ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Air Force Day, praising their courage, professionalism and exceptional combat capabilities.

Pakistan is observing Air Force Day today to commemorate the historic aerial battle fought on September 7 during the 1965 war.

In his message on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the PAF had demonstrated its expertise and superiority in numerous aerial battles over the decades. He described the force as a distinguished institution with a proud history of sacrifice, bravery and professional excellence.

The prime minister said the PAF had always responded to the nation’s call with extraordinary courage and determination. He recalled that in September 1965, the PAF displayed an unwavering commitment to defending the country’s airspace, and that same spirit enabled its personnel to achieve remarkable success in the skies.

He paid tribute to the “Shaheens” who sacrificed their lives in defence of the motherland, saying it was an honour for the nation to pay homage to the sacrifices of the PAF’s martyrs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz further highlighted the PAF’s role in the events of May 2025, saying it demonstrated exemplary coordination with other services of the armed forces. He said the PAF displayed boldness and exceptional combat skills during what he referred to as **Marka-e-Haq**, defeating the adversary through effective planning and multi-domain combat capabilities.

He said the nation was proud of the PAF for confronting the enemy despite being numerically smaller.

The prime minister expressed his best wishes for the continued professional success and development of the Pakistan Air Force, saying he was confident that the PAF would remain fully prepared to meet every challenge, as it had always done.
