New Twist in Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadha Case as NCCIA Collects Digital Evidence
LAHORE: A new development has emerged in the case involving Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadha, as the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has reportedly collected digital evidence during its investigation and issued notices to both parties.
According to journalist Azam Malik, sources said the digital evidence includes a video that had previously circulated online, as well as some data allegedly withheld by both parties.
NCCIA sources reportedly said that Momina Iqbal and Saqib Chadha should have provided such evidence to the investigating agency themselves. The NCCIA also told the court that, at present, it was not seeking the arrest of either party.
According to the report, the decision not to seek arrests is part of the investigative process, as investigators in some cases first collect and examine evidence before considering arrests.

Both parties have reportedly been served 10-day notices and will be summoned for questioning. The agency will question them separately on the basis of the newly collected digital evidence and will also provide them with questionnaires.
Investigators will also ask why the circulating video and other relevant digital data were not provided to the agency earlier.
Azam Malik reported that questions relating to data recovered from mobile phones through forensic analysis will also form part of the investigation.
At this stage, it would not be appropriate to declare either party innocent or guilty, the report said. The NCCIA will complete its inquiry on the basis of the newly obtained evidence and subsequently submit its findings to the Director General of the agency.
Further legal action will be decided after reviewing the investigation report and the available evidence.
