Pakistan Makes Record Rs1.2 Trillion Early Debt Repayment

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has made an early repayment of Rs1.2 trillion in debt, marking the largest single premature debt repayment in the country’s history.

With the latest payment, the total volume of debt repaid ahead of schedule has reached Rs5.92 trillion.

The Ministry of Finance described the early debt repayment as a significant step toward active debt management, saying it would help reduce refinancing risks and pressure from future debt repayments.

According to the ministry, the move is expected to strengthen the government’s fiscal position and create greater financial space for the economy.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed that Pakistan has made its largest-ever single early debt repayment of Rs1.2 trillion as part of efforts to improve debt management and reduce future financial pressures.
