Quetta:Dr. Saboor Kakar, spokesperson for the Young Doctors Association Balochistan, strongly condemned the Finance Department’s illegal notification blocking the salaries of teaching faculty. He accused the Finance Department of violating Supreme Court/High Court decisions and decisions of the previous government.
“The Balochistan Cabinet has repeatedly informed the Finance Department and the Health Department about this issue, notifying them that doctors are suffering due to this illegal notification,” stated Dr. Saboor Kakar during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club. He highlighted that doctors, who have been working without salaries for the past two months in the interest of medical education and the future of students, have initiated a boycott.
“If the Finance Department does not take serious action to resolve this issue, we demand that the Balochistan Chief Minister, Health Minister, Health Secretary, and other senior officials intervene immediately,” Dr. Saboor Kakar demanded. He urged them to withdraw the illegal notification within 24 hours, ensure the timely payment of doctors’ salaries, and expedite the filling of all vacant positions through commissions.
“If the government fails to resolve this matter seriously, the teaching faculty will be compelled to boycott their services from all medical colleges, and the complete responsibility will rest on the Finance Department,” warned Dr. Saboor Kakar. He affirmed that the Young Doctors Association Balochistan will not compromise on the rights of the doctors’ community and will continue its struggle until their legitimate demands are met.
