World Bank Signs $20 Billion Development Loan Agreement with Pakistan

Islamabad:World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, Najy Benhassine, announced that Pakistan’s economic stability has been strengthening, paving the way for the signing of a 10-year development agreement. The agreement, under the new Country Partnership Framework, consists of a $20 billion developmental loan.
Benhassine highlighted that the funding would be primarily used for sectors such as clean energy and environmental restoration. The project is set to commence in 2026.
He also mentioned that long-term development plans are being formulated in alignment with the priorities of the World Bank Group, ensuring that Pakistan’s growth remains on a sustainable path.
