WhatsApp’s New Feature Makes Joining Channels Easier for Users
Islamabad: WhatsApp is testing a new feature aimed at making it easier for users to join channels on the platform. The new method involves the introduction of a QR code, which users can scan to quickly access channels and join them if they find the content interesting.
According to a recent report by WhatsApp Beta Info, the feature is currently available to users who have the updated WhatsApp Beta on both Android and iOS. As shown in the provided image, users can use their phone’s camera to scan a QR code, which will redirect them to the channel. If the content aligns with their interests, they can easily join the channel.
To access a channel’s QR code, users need to visit the channel, tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner, and go to the “Share” menu. Here, they will have the option to generate and display the QR code, which will act as a shortcut to the channel and provide an easy way for followers to join.
Compared to traditional methods of sharing a channel link by copying and pasting it into a chat, this new approach is more convenient, especially when the desired channel is right in front of the user.
However, like most features currently in beta, it is unclear when this feature will be available to all regular users. Therefore, it may take some time before it becomes accessible on your device.
