WhatsApp Testing Highly Useful and Interesting Feature

California: WhatsApp has started testing a new and highly useful feature that aims to highlight unread messages and send notifications to users to remind them about messages they haven’t seen yet.
According to a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, the new feature will alert users when they have unread messages from specific contacts. WhatsApp’s algorithm will notify users that they have not viewed or read a message from a particular number.
In addition to notifications, unread messages will be automatically highlighted, making it easier for users to identify them. However, if a user doesn’t view a message within a specific period, the system will send a reminder notification, similar to notifications users receive on Facebook or Instagram when there are new comments on their posts.
The feature will be particularly useful for chats with frequent messages, as WhatsApp’s algorithm will prioritize sending notifications for unread messages in such conversations.
Previously, WhatsApp also began testing a notification feature for status updates. Both of these features are currently being tested with a limited number of Android users. The second phase of testing will expand, with the features expected to be rolled out to a wider audience soon.
It is speculated that these features could be launched at the beginning of next year, though this timeline is not confirmed.
