Gwadar, Balochistan:Dr. Sabihah Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Unity Committee (BYC), addressed the media from the ongoing protest at Marine Drive, stating that the situation remains dire. The protest, led by the Baloch Raaji Munch, has faced severe repression, resulting in multiple casualties, injuries, and the detention of hundreds of individuals, who have been moved to undisclosed locations.
Dr. Baloch highlighted that the city of Gwadar is under strict curfew, rendering daily life virtually paralyzed. The city is surrounded by security forces, and basic services such as internet, communication systems, and electricity are disrupted. Armed personnel and plainclothes officers are patrolling the streets.
She described the current environment in Gwadar as chaotic, with people left helpless in hospitals and properties being vandalized by security forces. Dr. Baloch expressed concern over missing individuals and the dire conditions faced by protesters.
Despite the severe crackdown, Dr. Baloch affirmed that the protest, which has continued amid extreme oppression, will persist. She urged those who can reach Gwadar to join the protest, and those who are obstructed en route to continue demonstrating where they are.
Dr. Baloch also demanded that Baloch parliamentary members resign immediately, warning that failure to do so will result in their names being listed alongside those like Zia Langove and Meena Majeed in the annals of betrayal. She concluded by asserting that regardless of their own fate, the protest will continue.
