Violence Erupts in Gwadar as Forces Clash with Protesters

Gwadar:Dr. Maah Rung Baloch, leader of the Baloch Unity Committee, condemned the use of force by authorities to disrupt a peaceful gathering on July 28 in Gwadar, aimed at highlighting Baloch grievances. Over the past three days, approximately a thousand individuals have been detained, with their whereabouts and condition unknown. Gwadar has been under a strict curfew for four days, with all communication networks cut off. Reports indicate that death squads are conducting widespread arrests and violence in the streets. This marks the second crackdown on Baloch protesters in Gwadar, with security forces opting for aggression over dialogue with peaceful demonstrators. The extent of casualties and injuries remains unclear, as access to hospitals treating the injured is restricted. Dr. Maah Rung Baloch has called for international attention to the issue of Baloch persecution and urges support for the Baloch Unity Committee’s efforts against ethnic violence.
