Veteran Actress Bushra Ansari Embraces Her Age, Questions Societal Taboo Around Aging

Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari, on her 69th birthday, has openly addressed societal attitudes towards aging, expressing pride in her age and questioning the stigma surrounding it. Bushra stated that she has no issue with her age and feels grateful for the wisdom it brings. She expressed disappointment that in Pakistani society, age is often considered a taboo topic, especially as one grows older. According to her, in the past, people would hide their age in the hopes of better roles or marriage prospects, but she has never felt the need to do so.

The actress humorously added that while she could never replace the roles of younger stars like Mahira Khan or Hania Aamir, she believes in staying young at heart, emphasizing that it’s the spirit that should remain youthful, rather than focusing too much on outward appearance.
