Islamabad:During a press briefing, Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel of the US State Department emphasized the critical need to ensure the safety of journalists globally. Patel stated, “Whether in America, Pakistan, or Gaza, it is essential that journalists are protected wherever they are.” He underscored that journalists must have the security necessary to carry out their work effectively.
“If journalists are not safe, they cannot do their job,” Patel asserted. “It is incumbent upon all of us to ensure that journalists are provided with protection.” He stressed the importance of guaranteeing journalists’ safety regardless of their location, advocating for concerted efforts to make this a reality worldwide.
