US Launches App Allowing Illegal Immigrants to Voluntarily Deport Themselves

Since Donald Trump’s administration took charge in the US, the crackdown on illegal immigrants has intensified. In line with this, a new app has been launched that allows illegal immigrants the opportunity to deport themselves voluntarily. This app, developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, is rapidly gaining popularity among illegal immigrants, as it offers them a chance to avoid detention or arrest by self-deporting.

According to media reports, following a strong crackdown on illegal immigrants in the US, this new mobile app provides a self-deportation option, enabling immigrants to leave the country without facing detention or legal consequences. Once deported, individuals using this app will not face any restrictions or bans and will be able to re-enter the US legally in the future.

A student from India, studying at Columbia University, used this app to deport herself after her visa was revoked due to her support for a Palestinian militant group. Srinivas, the Indian student, was one of the first to use the app, and she subsequently returned to Canada.

The app has also garnered support from high-profile figures, including Elon Musk, who praised the initiative. Musk stated that the app’s goal is to offer illegal immigrants a dignified opportunity to return to their home countries voluntarily.

In a statement, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen emphasized that through the CBP application, immigrants are being given the opportunity to leave the country voluntarily, which could potentially allow them to return legally in the future. She further warned, “If they don’t take this option, we will track them down and deport them permanently.”

The crackdown on illegal immigrants in the US has become more stringent, with Donald Trump recently canceling the legal status of more than 500,000 immigrants.
