US Intelligence Report Reveals India as Major Supplier of Illegal Fentanyl

According to a recent US intelligence report, India has emerged as the largest supplier of illegal fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid that has become a major contributor to the global drug crisis. The report highlights India’s involvement in illegal drug trade, which has put millions of lives at risk worldwide.

Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence in the United States, made this startling revelation during a hearing of the US House Intelligence Committee. She stated that India is a leading supplier of precursor chemicals used to manufacture fentanyl, which are then provided to Mexican drug cartels. These cartels are notorious for distributing fentanyl across the globe.

In her testimony, Gabbard mentioned that three individuals from the Indian state of Gujarat were recently charged with illegally supplying fentanyl to Mexico. Satish Kumar, Haresh Sutharia, and Yekta Ashish Kumar were involved in the illegal export of restricted chemicals to various countries, including Mexico. The individuals were found to be actively participating in the illegal trafficking of fentanyl to banned nations.

The report further indicates that India is heavily involved in the illegal drug trade on an international scale. According to the BBC, India also supplies illegal drugs to Central Africa, with over 4 million people in Nigeria alone using heroin smuggled from India.

The drugs manufactured in India are not only wreaking havoc on local populations but also generating significant profits on the international black market. These profits have contributed to the proliferation of addiction, crime, and death across the globe.

Given these developments, India is now considered one of the leading nations involved in global drug trafficking, posing a severe threat to international security and public health. The ongoing illegal supply of fentanyl and other drugs is a serious challenge that demands global attention and action.
