UN Security Council Condemns Terrorist Attack on Jaffer Express, Calls for International Cooperation

The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the cowardly and brutal terrorist attack on Jaffer Express, urging all countries to cooperate fully with the government of Pakistan in accordance with international law and Security Council resolutions. In a statement, Security Council members expressed their heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the affected families, the Pakistani government, and its people, and prayed for the swift and full recovery of the injured.
The statement reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to declaring all forms and types of terrorism as the most serious threats to international peace and security. The members also emphasized that those responsible for these heinous acts of terrorism, including perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors, must be brought to justice.
The Security Council urged all nations to collaborate with the Pakistani government under international law and Security Council resolutions to ensure that such acts are prevented in the future. The members reiterated that any act of terrorism, regardless of the motive, is unacceptable and criminal.
**Attack on Jaffer Express**
Recently, terrorists attacked the Jaffer Express traveling from Quetta to Peshawar in the Dhadar area of Bolan. The attackers took passengers hostage. The Pakistan Army successfully completed a clearance operation within 36 hours and freed the hostages. According to the DG ISPR, a total of 33 terrorists were killed in the operation, while the terrorists fired upon and martyred 26 individuals. The forces rescued 354 hostages, 37 of whom were injured, and not a single hostage was killed during the operation.
The DG ISPR stated that 18 of the 26 martyrs were from the Army and FC, and the terrorists did not take any passenger with them during the attack.
