UK Police Chiefs Counter Elon Musk’s Allegations on Child Sexual Exploitation

Islamabad:The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) in the United Kingdom has revealed the facts regarding allegations made by Elon Musk about the involvement of Muslims, particularly those of Pakistani descent, in child sexual exploitation in the UK.

According to media reports, Richard Fuchs, the Director of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, shared statistics showing that 85% of individuals involved in child sexual exploitation in 2024 were white. He emphasized that perpetrators of sexual exploitation do not belong to any specific religious or ethnic group.

Fuchs stated that these statistics were compiled after allegations emerged regarding the involvement of certain religious or ethnic groups in sexual crimes. He noted that the data would now be used in the training of new police officers.

He clarified that the statistics do not yet include data from the fourth quarter of 2024. Fuchs also pointed out that recent attention to the issue of “grooming gangs” has led to a lack of focus on other aspects of child sexual abuse, such as the involvement of family members.

Chief Constable Becky Riggs, who investigates child sexual abuse cases, added that addressing risks associated with all religious and ethnic groups is essential in tackling child sexual exploitation. She emphasized that the recent discussions surrounding Pakistani grooming gangs had narrowed the focus of child sexual abuse cases to a specific issue.

These statements by UK police officials came in response to accusations made by Elon Musk on his social media platform X, where he criticized the British government and Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the grooming gangs issue. Musk had claimed that most individuals involved in child sexual exploitation in the UK were Muslims and of Pakistani origin.
