UK Introduces New Visa Policy to Curb Illegal Immigration, Impacting Multiple Countries’ Travelers

London:The United Kingdom has unveiled a new visa policy aimed at preventing illegal immigration, which will affect travelers from various countries. The policy introduces the **Electronic Travel Authority (ETA)** system, making adjustments to the existing visa regulations.
Under the new policy, travelers from visa-exempt countries will be required to undergo pre-screening before entering the UK. The ETA system will be electronically linked to the traveler’s passport and will remain valid until the passport expires, or for up to two years.
This shift is expected to cause challenges for travelers from countries that previously did not require a visa to enter the UK. The new policy will now apply to citizens from the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Israel, the Caribbean, Europe, and several Pacific nations. Travelers from these countries will need to apply for an ETA before traveling to the UK.
To obtain an ETA, travelers must submit an application online or through a mobile app, providing their passport details, a recent digital photograph, and a £10 fee.
