Dubai: The holy month of Ramadan is expected to commence in the United Arab Emirates on March 1, 2025, according to Arab media reports. The Emirates Astronomy Society has announced that the sighting of the moon during the fifth month of the Islamic calendar, Jumada al-Awwal, will help determine the dates for Ramadan.
The society indicated that the moon for Jumada al-Awwal is expected to be visible on November 3, 2024, likely shortly after sunset, which will provide key insights for predicting the start of Ramadan.
The final date for the beginning of Ramadan will depend on the moon sighting, which is traditionally announced by a committee formed for this purpose.
