UAE Assures Pakistan of Rolling Over $2 Billion Loan: PM Shehbaz
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has assured Pakistan of rolling over a $2 billion loan. The assurance came after a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday.
During the meeting, discussions were held on investment, bilateral relations, and the loan rollover program. Sheikh Mohamed confirmed that the UAE will roll over the $2 billion loan, which was due for repayment in January.
The Prime Minister shared this update during a meeting of the Federal Cabinet, where the government reviewed the country’s overall security and economic situation. He further emphasized that the talks with the UAE President included discussions on strengthening ties between the two countries and exploring avenues for increased investment.
