UAE Announces Safe Exit Path for Illegal Residents, Launches Online Exit Permit Service
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has announced a new initiative to provide a safe and legal exit route for foreign nationals residing in the country illegally. Under this scheme, individuals whose residency permits or work visas have expired and who wish to return to their home countries will be able to avail of an online exit permit service.
The online service allows these individuals a 14-day grace period to either leave the country or correct their documents to extend their stay. The initiative is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to address residency issues and offer a pathway for illegal residents to depart the country legally.
This service will be available until December 31, providing ample time for those affected to take advantage of the opportunity to regularize their status or leave the country without facing penalties.
