UAE Announces Public Holidays for National Day Celebrations
The United Arab Emirates will celebrate its 53rd National Day next week, with government and private sector employees enjoying a four-day holiday. According to Emirates Today, the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources has declared Monday, December 2, and Tuesday, December 3, as public holidays in observance of National Day. Since the regular weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday, employees will have a four-day break.
The UAE National Day marks the union of the seven emirates—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah—on December 2, 1971, which led to the formation of the United Arab Emirates. The National Day is celebrated annually on December 2nd in honor of this historic event.
