U.S. Vows to Stay Engaged with Both Pakistan and India Amid Rising Tensions: Natalie Baker

Islamabad: In the wake of heightened tensions between Pakistan and India following a recent incident in the Pahalgam region of Indian-administered Kashmir, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan, Natalie Baker, reaffirmed America’s commitment to remain engaged with both countries during the evolving situation.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Baker met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad to discuss recent regional developments.
During the meeting, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding national interests while pursuing regional peace and security. In response, Baker conveyed the United States’ desire to see a de-escalation of tensions and emphasized that Washington would stay actively connected with both Islamabad and New Delhi.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department had announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio would hold discussions with his counterparts in both countries to address the rising tensions and encourage dialogue.
