U.S. Congressman Jack Bergman Reiterates Call for Imran Khan’s Release After Pakistan Visit

Following his recent visit to Pakistan, Republican Congressman **Jack Bergman** has once again called for the release of former Prime Minister **Imran Khan**, emphasizing the importance of democratic values and human rights in U.S.-Pakistan relations.

During his trip, Bergman held meetings with several key figures, including Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff **General Syed Asim Munir**. Upon returning to the United States, he issued a public statement reaffirming his stance:
*”After my visit to Pakistan and engaging with leaders and communities both there and in the U.S., I reiterate my call for the release of Imran Khan.”*

He stressed that a robust U.S.-Pakistan partnership must be rooted in shared principles: *“A strong U.S.-Pakistan relationship is built on mutual values—democracy, human rights, and economic prosperity. Let us work together for freedom and stability.”*
Bergman concluded his statement with the hashtag **#FreeImranKhan**.

The congressman’s remarks have drawn attention both locally and internationally. Pakistani journalist **Moeed Pirzada** responded to Bergman’s statement on social media, saying:
*”Congressman Bergman, it’s a good message! But did you communicate this effectively to your Pakistani hosts during private meetings?”*

Bergman’s renewed advocacy adds to growing international calls for transparency and fairness in Pakistan’s judicial processes, especially in politically charged cases. As tensions continue, the spotlight remains firmly on Pakistan’s internal political dynamics and their implications for global diplomacy.
