Two Professors Suspended at Gomal University Over Dance Incident Involving Male Student Disguised as a Girl

Dera Ismail Khan:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa*: Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan has suspended two professors after a male student dressed as a girl and performed a dance at a university event. The university administration initiated an inquiry into the matter, citing violations of institutional codes and responsibilities.

According to a notification issued by the university, the professors, who were assigned to oversee the event, were suspended for failing to enforce the university’s code of conduct. The notification stated that the professors neglected their duties and did not ensure proper adherence to the university’s rules.

A university official revealed that a cultural event, organized by students from the Information Technology and Computer Science departments, had been approved by the administration. The event included music and other entertainment activities. During the event, a male student disguised himself in women’s clothing and performed a dance, which caused a stir among attendees. A video of the performance later went viral on social media.

The university administration declared the act of cross-dressing and dancing to be in violation of the university’s regulations and took immediate action. Initially, the two professors were suspended for their failure to oversee the event properly. An inquiry committee has been formed to further investigate the incident and determine accountability.

In addition to the professors, the university plans to take action against the student involved. An official stated that a formal inquiry report will guide further disciplinary measures. Despite multiple attempts to contact the university spokesperson and Vice Chancellor, no response was received.

The incident has raised questions about the enforcement of conduct rules at the university and sparked debates on social media.
