Two Livestock Killed by Electric Shock at Expo Center in Karachi

Karachi:Two livestock animals were killed after being electrocuted at the ongoing Livestock Expo at the Expo Center in Karachi.

According to Shakir Umar, President of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association of Pakistan, the incident occurred during the exhibition organized by the Sindh government. He emphasized that the affected person should be compensated by the Livestock Department for the loss.

The Livestock Expo 2025, inaugurated by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Mohammad Ali Malkani, is showcasing over two thousand rare breeds of livestock, along with hundreds of birds and fish species. The event also includes musical concerts, qawwali performances, and a food court.

In his address at the event, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stressed the need to increase shrimp farming and exports. He also mentioned that President Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to visit China next month, where discussions on mutual cooperation in the livestock sector may take place.
