Turkish President Erdogan Gifts Electric Car ‘TOGG’ to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif During Official Visit to Pakistan

Islamabad:Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official tour of Asia, presented Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a model of Turkey’s locally produced electric vehicle, the ‘TOGG’, during his two-day visit to Pakistan.

The Turkish President, currently in the final leg of his three-nation tour of Asia, gifted the T10X model of the electric SUV to the Prime Minister in Islamabad. Reports state that the two leaders took time to chat before posing for photos in front of the green-colored vehicle, which was inspired by the lush green Ayder Highlands in President Erdogan’s hometown, Rize, by the Black Sea coast.

During the occasion, President Erdogan sat in the vehicle with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who briefly drove the electric SUV. The moment, captured in a photo, symbolized the growing and long-standing relations between the two countries.

Pakistan was the third and final stop on President Erdogan’s Asian tour. Earlier this week, he had gifted a similar ‘TOGG’ vehicle to Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and to Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo on Wednesday.
