Trump Warns BRICS Countries Against Adopting Alternative Currency to the US Dollar

Islamabad:Newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to the BRICS countries, advising them not to bring in their own currency or support an alternative to the U.S. dollar. He stated that if these nations proceed with such a move, they would face a 100% tax on their trade activities.

According to foreign news agencies, Trump emphasized that there is no possibility of a global economy functioning without the U.S. dollar, and that any BRICS nation supporting a substitute currency would be excluded from the U.S. economy. This warning comes as BRICS nations explore the option of conducting trade in their own currency, rather than relying on the U.S. dollar.

The BRICS group, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has been discussing plans to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar in international trade. This year, countries such as the UAE, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia have also joined the BRICS alliance, further expanding its influence in the global market.
