Trump Imposes 25% Tariff on Steel and Aluminum Imports

In a bold move, U.S. President Donald Trump announced today the imposition of a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports, effective immediately. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that these tariffs would also apply to countries that have already imposed tariffs on U.S. products.
Trump stated, “If they are charging us 130% tariffs and we are not charging them anything in return, this situation cannot continue.”
Previously, Trump had placed a 10% tariff on China but delayed the implementation of the 25% tariff for Canada and Mexico by 30 days, just before the deadline.
Since taking office last month, President Trump has made aggressive decisions regarding taxes and tariffs, which are expected to have significant impacts on global trade and economies.
