Quetta:Allegations have surfaced against the administration overseeing the Wondar Dam project in Sunderbani of gross negligence and recklessness leading to fatal consequences for local residents. The construction of Wondar Dam involved extensive excavation of hundreds of acres of land in the region, posing significant risks to human lives.
Attempts by the dam administration to pacify residents by compensating them for their innocent children’s lives at stake have failed. According to reports, the Wondar Dam project involved extensive digging, extracting large quantities of soil across vast stretches of land in Sunderbani.
Local residents have expressed concerns about the recent torrential rains, which have resulted in flash floods, posing further threats to our lives and livestock. Information suggests that a contract was signed with the residents of Sunderbani to excavate up to 2 feet of soil for the Wondar Dam project, but the administration went ahead and dug up to 8 feet, endangering the lives and finances of the area’s inhabitants.
The Wondar Dam administration has deliberately rendered the fertile lands of the area barren. It has also come to light that in addition to excavating 2 feet of soil, the Wondar Dam administration used to inundate hundreds of acres of farmland with river water. However, the Wondar Dam administration has also blatantly cut off these river branches, causing severe economic hardships for landowners.
Residents of Sunderbani demand that the Wondar Dam administration be stopped from its excavations immediately, urging them to swiftly construct canals from the dug pits to ensure the proper management of water to prevent any potential human and financial losses.
