Traffic Fatalities in Karachi Reach 108 in 2025 as Another Person Dies in Accident

Karachi, February 14, 2025 – A tragic traffic accident occurred in Karachi’s Malir Memon Goth area, claiming the life of another individual. This brings the total number of fatalities in traffic accidents this year to 108. According to police reports, the incident was caused by a collision with a dumper truck, although initial investigations have not found any direct evidence linking the dumper to the accident. The identity of the deceased remains unknown.

In comparison, during 2024, Karachi witnessed a significant rise in traffic-related deaths, with 482 people losing their lives in various accidents, and 410 others sustained injuries.

To curb the growing number of traffic accidents, the Sindh government has imposed a ban on the entry of dumpers into Karachi during the daytime. As per the new directive, dumpers will only be allowed to enter the city between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., aiming to reduce the risk of accidents during peak traffic hours.

Authorities hope that these measures will improve road safety and reduce the number of fatalities in the city.
