Tosha Khana 2 Case: Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Indicted
Islamabad: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi have been formally indicted in the Tosha Khana 2 case.
According to Express News, the indictment took place during a hearing at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where Special Central Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand presided over the case. Imran Khan was brought to court from jail, while Bushra Bibi appeared in person at the court.
Judge Arjumand read out the charges against the accused, after which the proceedings were adjourned.
Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, has been facing multiple legal challenges. He was initially arrested in the “Altaf Hussain Contempt” case and later faced arrest and release orders in various other cases. Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi was acquitted in the “Iddat” case and has been granted bail in several other cases.
In a separate development, PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Yasmin Rashid were also indicted today in connection with the violent events of May 9 in Lahore. The charges were framed against them in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore, which held a session at the Kot Lakhpat Jail. The charges stem from allegations of arson and vandalism during protests on May 9 in the Shadman area of Lahore.
