Bolan: Recent torrential winds accompanied by rainfall have broken the intensity of heat and drought in Bolan, leading to record-breaking floods in rivers and streams. According to details, rivers in Balochistan, including the Nari River, witnessed floods with a record of 92,000 cubic feet per second. Similarly, Panjgur Bolan Weir recorded 5,000 cubic feet per second, and Mashkaf Weir also reported 5,000 cubic feet per second.
Villages near the Nari River, such as Kolachi, Mithri, Haji Shah, and Doseh Larshari, remained safe with protective measures in place. However, the downpour has affected dam embankments, causing concern in Dhadar’s Damani Ghazi area, although no significant damage to property or life was reported from the collapse of one house in Dhadar’s Damani Ghazi area.
Deputy Commissioner Kech Captain (Retd.) Jameel Ahmed Baloch informed journalists that high alerts have been issued to all departments to cope with the flood situation caused by the monsoon rains. He added that the provincial government has been urged to arrange private dozers to handle any emergency due to limited machinery availability.
The Meteorological Department has forecast continued monsoon rains in intervals, emphasizing the need for preparedness to mitigate flood risks.
