Three Miners Killed in Separate Coal Mine Accidents in Balochistan

Quetta:The series of accidents in Balochistan’s coal mines continues, with recent incidents in Mach and Hernai resulting in the deaths of three miners.

According to the Department of Minerals, 52 miners have lost their lives in 26 coal mine accidents reported in the first seven months of this year.

Rescue sources from the mines reported that in a local coal mine in Mach, toxic gas accumulation led to suffocation, resulting in the deaths of two miners, brothers Mohammad Ismail and Abdul Manan. Their bodies have been retrieved from the mine and transferred to a hospital.

In another incident in the Shahrag area of Hernai district, 25-year-old miner Mohammad Jaleel died after being struck by a cart.

The Department of Minerals’ statistics indicate that in the first seven months of this year, Balochistan’s coal mines have seen a total of 26 accidents, resulting in 52 fatalities and 10 injuries. The majority of these accidents occurred in the coal mines of Quetta, Hernai, and Duki.
