Terrorists Target Girls Again in Mastung, Says Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti

Quetta: In a recent address at a laptop distribution ceremony, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the terrorist attack on girls in Mastung, asserting that despite the grief caused by such acts, the spirit of the people remains unbroken. He stated, “We will confront the terrorists; we will not allow our universities, schools, and colleges to become desolate. Education is our weapon against terrorism.”
Bugti emphasized the importance of empowering young girls to send a strong message to terrorists via social media, urging them to counter the narratives of those who exploit youth under the guise of backwardness. He pointed out that a systematic conspiracy to attack the youth was evident in the timing of recent incidents, including the disturbing case of a young girl’s assault ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
Addressing the youth, he encouraged them to think critically when confronted with manipulative messages online. Bugti highlighted the government’s commitment to education, announcing that top students from each district would receive free education until the age of 16, and that scholarships would be awarded to the children of martyrs.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister noted that the provincial government will provide 100 scholarships for minority students, emphasizing the need to combat corruption, which he identified as the largest issue facing Balochistan. He stated, “While the world progresses, some still resort to self-destructive actions. We must eradicate bribery and corruption.”
Bugti’s remarks reflect a broader commitment to supporting education as a means to counteract extremism and foster a brighter future for the youth of Balochistan.
