Terrorists Attack Police Checkpost in Jhangi, No Police Casualties

Terrorists attacked a police checkpost in the Jhangi area, located at the border of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the Dera Ghazi Khan district. According to DPO Dera Ghazi Khan, Syed Ali Kazmi, the attackers fired rockets at the Jhangi police post. In response, the police carried out a counterattack using thermal cameras.

The police reported that due to their effective and strong response, one terrorist was killed, while the others managed to escape. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the police forces during the attack.

This incident marks the eighth terrorist attack in the border areas between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this month.

Earlier, on the previous day, Punjab Police conducted a major operation in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan, targeting criminals. During the operation, notorious dacoits Shah Meer alias Meera Kash and Hakeem Kash were killed. These slain criminals were prime suspects in the August 2022 attack in Kacha Machka, which led to the martyrdom of 12 police officers.
