Talal Chaudhry Slams PTI’s Protest as “Another Blunder” Post-9 May, Warns of Consequences

Islamabad:Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for what he called “another blunder” following their protest on [Date], asserting that it was another failed attempt after the party’s 9 May actions. Speaking to Geo News, Chaudhry commended the government for its handling of the situation, stating that despite the protests, the security forces managed to disperse the demonstrators without any loss of life.

“This protest is another mistake from PTI after the events of 9 May,” Chaudhry remarked. “The government handled the situation effectively, and the protesters were sent home without any casualties, showing that the government’s strategy was sound.”

Chaudhry also addressed the narrative created by PTI, which suggested that the government had failed to control the situation. He pointed out that PTI leaders had abandoned their supporters and fled in bulletproof vehicles, leaving their workers behind. “They tried to create the illusion that the government was failing, but once again, the PTI leadership ran away, leaving their workers alone,” he said.

Referring to the negotiations held with PTI leaders the previous day, Chaudhry stated that PTI misinterpreted the government’s efforts as a sign of weakness. “After the events of 9 May, this is another mistake by PTI. Now, just like after their failed 2014 sit-in, PTI will face severe consequences,” he added.

Chaudhry emphasized that the government would no longer engage in talks with PTI, stating that the time for negotiations had passed. “Now, the law will take its course. They have caused damage and engaged in vandalism, and the government will take strict action against them,” he asserted.

He also suggested that political members within PTI who still held genuine political values may no longer want to be associated with the party’s current leadership. “Even those in PTI who have a genuine political vision might not be able to stand with this group for much longer,” he concluded.

Chaudhry’s remarks highlight the growing tensions between the government and PTI, as well as the ongoing political fallout following the recent protests and violent clashes in the capital.
