Talal Chaudhry: No Discussion on NRO, Talks Should Not Be Personal or Threatening
Islamabad:Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Senator *Talal Chaudhry* has emphasized that while dialogue is encouraged, any discussion about an *NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance)* will not be entertained. Speaking in a program on *Geo News* with *Shahzeb Khanzada*, Chaudhry made it clear that negotiations should not be focused on personal issues or legal cases.
He stated, “No one is stopping talks, nor will anyone stop them, but there will be no discussion on an NRO.” He further clarified that discussions should not involve any form of coercion or threats, adding that some people mistakenly believe that overseas Pakistanis are subservient to them.
Regarding the ongoing political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Talal Chaudhry remarked, “If the provincial government cannot defy orders, how can there be civil disobedience?”
On the issue of *Madrasah Registration* and the government’s differences with *Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam* (JUI-F) leader *Maulana Fazlur Rehman*, Chaudhry asserted that they would manage to convince Maulana Fazlur Rehman to come to the table. “We will ensure that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is brought to the discussion before he takes any further steps in the field,” he said.
Talal Chaudhry’s statements underscore the PML-N’s firm stance on key political issues, including dialogue with opposition parties and resolving ongoing concerns regarding religious seminaries.
