Closure of Streetlights and Cameras in Quetta Sparks Rise in Crime, JI to Launch ‘Give Quetta Its Rights’ Campaign Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch, MPA and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, has expressed concern over the rising crime in Quetta following the shutdown of streetlights and surveillance cameras. He announced that the party will launch a campaign titled “Give Quetta Its Rights” to highlight civic issues and demand solutions. Addressing a special meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami district leaders, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman emphasized that the party is a well-organized, capable, and ideological organization committed to resolving public problems and safeguarding citizens’ rights. He urged Quetta residents to support the party in promoting development, prosperity, and effective governance. During the meeting, district Amir Abdul Naeem Rand noted that the suspension of streetlights and cameras has worsened crime, while traffic and sanitation systems remain in disarray. Despite representation in parliament, the city’s problems remain largely ignored. He stressed that Jamaat-e-Islami will raise its voice on all forums to highlight these issues and work for practical solutions. The leadership agreed to strengthen organizational structures, enhance community outreach, and establish new local units to expand the party’s influence. Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman instructed the district leadership to train workers, expand awareness campaigns, and actively engage with citizens to address issues such as inflation, unemployment, poverty, and mismanagement. The meeting also included participation from Provincial Deputy Amir Zahid Akhtar Baloch, District Amir Abdul Naeem Rand, District General Secretary Ejaz Mehboob, and other district officials who shared recommendations to improve the party’s activities. The session concluded with an Iftar dinner organized in honor of the Provincial Amir, attended by party leaders and workers.
