Islamabad:The Supreme Court has directed the Balochistan government to provide details of the assets of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Qasim Suri.
A four-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa of the Supreme Court conducted the hearing of Qasim Suri’s electoral eligibility case.
As per the hearing orders, the court inquired from the federal government and the FIA about the whereabouts of Qasim Suri and why he did not appear despite the court’s orders.
His lawyer, Naeem Bukhari, stated that he has no contact with Qasim Suri. Chief Justice remarked that Qasim Suri took a stay order from the Supreme Court and went into hiding. “He made a deal by making a deal and rejected the no-confidence motion,” he added.
Naeem Bukhari requested that the current case is now meaningless. He also mentioned that his client had resigned on April 16, 2022.
